Conversational English Weekly

K-1     Mrs. Matias            WEEK: August 27-31, 2012

During the week the students will be learning how to answer questions and naming the numbers from one to ten while answering a question. This will not only help them practice and learn new vocabulary, it will also help them know how to answer a simple question without feeling anxious through group activities, songs and chants.

*Parents: The students can come on Thursday August 23, 2012 dressed in their favorite color. It has to be one color from head to toes. They will be playing a game of guessing with the teacher and each other in the classroom. No shorts or skirts or very short dresses. This activity is only for PK, K-1 and k-2. Other students will come in their regular uniform.

Hello parents! During this week the students will continue learning and identifying the colors with different activities in the classroom.
***Homework: This Thursday (August 23, 2012)    My favorite color is…
For this Thursday the students have to come dressed in their favorite color. (Casual Day) They will stand in front of the class and each one of them is going to say out loud: My favorite color is…  For example: My favorite color is pink. And I come dressed ALL in pink.
Short dresses or pants (shorts) are unacceptable.
*This assignment is only for PK, k-1 and k-2. Other students from other grades will wear their regular uniforms.

Exam: Friday - August 24, 2012

Exam Review:

1-Literary Elements: Setting and Plot (The students will mention the setting and the four parts in the plot from the story: "Old Yeller".).
2- Spelling Words (20 words) Words ending in -ed and -ing - The list is in their notebook.
3- Synonyms (The list is in the notebook.)
4- Vocabulary Words: The list is in the notebook with their definitions.
5- Types of Sentences: The student will write wich type of sentence it is and their correct punctuation mark.
6- "Old Yeller" - Answer various questions.
