First Grade Exam Review
Review at home the following concepts:
1- Consonant Spelling: Teacher will dictate to the student the sound and they have to write which consonant and vowel it is. (r,j,w,e,v,y,z,u,q)
2- Teacher will tell the students what the picture is and they have to write the beggining letter.
For example:
![]() |
| _____Z____ |
3- Fill in the blank with the correct high frequency word. Sentences are very easy for them to understand. Teacher reads them the sentence. They have to answer it by themselves. Many lack the skill of analyzing and looking for clues within the sentence. I am constantly teaching them how to do it. That is very important with this type of exercise. Learning is not memorizing, its being able to analyze.
(he, is, with, three to, where, for, me, go)
4- Organize the days of the week in order. We do this in class, even with a song. I will give them the list of the days, they have to write them in order.
5- Circle the make believe pictures and draw a box around the real pictures.
Feel free to check out the workbook exercises. Most of my exercises are taking from there but with different pictures and sentences.
