*Students should bring their book for the Show and Tell. The Book Report has been announced with time in advance. There will be no exceptions on hand-in time.

Easter Vacation: March 27-April 2, 2013 I will see the students back at school on April 3, 2013.

PK and Kinder Weekly March 18-26, 2013

 During the week the students will be working with various activities regarding types of food. They will also continue learning letters of the alphabet, vocabulary and an Easter celebration classroom activities and stories.

Next Monday Show and Tell
The students will continue their show and tell with the following letters: g,h,i,j,k,l,m,n
Follow the same instructions as last week's show and tell. G is for..

*Remember: No classes this Thursday and on Friday the students will be celebrating their Field Day.
Next week: Classes MOnday and Tuesday and then OFF. I will see the students again on April 3, 2013.

K-1 Weekly March 11-15, 2013


K-1 Weekly                     Week: March 11-15, 2013

During the week the students will practice naming different types of food that you can find in the supermarket. We will talk about the importance of food and eating healthy.
**I love using lots of visuals with the students, it is easy to memorize and identify. I would appreciate if you can lend me food articles that the children have at home and that they do not use.  Real life food articles such as boxes of cornflakes, oatmeal, milk cartons, juice cartons, cookies, yogurt, etc. Plastic ones are welcomed too.
Types of Food- fruits, vegetables, dairy, grains, meat and drinks

** Next Wednesday March 13, 2013 the students will present a show and tell for the following letters of the alphabet: a, b, c, d, e, f
Each student will bring pictures with something that begins with the letter and present it to his or her classmates.  (Construction papers front and back with pictures and what they will say with each letter)*This is a great time to look for other words, so they do not use the same ones.

Example:
A is for airplane          B is for…                C is for …   etc

Trauma in the Hospital - Teacher


Thank you my wondeful sixth graders for your beautiful get well card and for being awesome and taking great care of me when it happened. Last week I had a little accident with scissors lots of blood but nothing worse...THANK GOD! ...and  yes I ended up in the hospital and yes teacher has to go back to PK so she can learn how to use them.
Here is picture of me at the hospital looking very HAPPY...not!

Friday March 8, 2013 - Oral Evaluation/ Clothing Items.

The students should mention and identify the following: t-shirt, shirt, pants, socks, shoes, dress, skirt and pajama. We have discussed in class differences between boys’ and girls’ clothes.
On Thursday (March 7, 2013) we will be celebrating Dr. Seuss Day in honor of this wonderful author’s birthday. Mrs. Matias is obsessed with his craziness, weird words and characters. I will read to the students a short story “The Foot Book”, watch a short video about the story and an arts and crafts class creation.

During the week the students will be honoring Dr. Seuss, his birthday and his amazing stories. They will be working with the following stories:

“Green Eggs and Ham”, “The Foot Book”, “Dr. Seuss ABC”

Thursday will be the official Dr. Seuss Day. They will be working with different arts and crafts activities during the week as we reminiscence on the fabulous characters, vocabulary and more. 

*Special attention to the alphabet letters especially a, b, c, d, e & f
